Introduction:
Prof. Huabin Shi graduated from Tsinghua University in 2016 with a PhD degree in Hydraulic Engineering. He was a research associate and vising scholar in the UK and the USA . He has worked as a Assistant Professor of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of UM since 2020.

His research interests are:

  • Sediment dynamics in natural phenomena, engineering, and geological disasters, focusing on multi-phase numerical study of granular-fluid interactions
  • Coastal hazards and safety of coastal cities
  • Evolution of beach and shoreline under natural conditions and storm surge
  • Meshless CFD methods, focusing on two-phase Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) model for solid-fluid flows
